High Council

OSC High Council

The OSC High Council serves to manage the logistics of the Order as a whole and serves a central and leading role for the Order.

 

The High Council is made up of five members.  These members may volunteer or be appointed and are not subject to elections or set terms in office.  It is the duty of the High Council to oversee the overall direction of the Order; to grant Charters for new groves; to initiate degree and study programs; and to keep records and archives related to the Order.

The main duties of the OSC High Council are:

  1. To guide and govern the overall tone and direction of the Order of the Stone Circle and its affiliated groves and members.
  2. To keep and maintain the historical records of the Order as well as current documents, guides, forms, and other materials.
  3. To maintain the Order of the Stone Circle website.
  4. To maintain an online membership / discussion group or bulletin board where OSC members and chapters may connect and network with each other.
  5. To maintain a member driven online newsletter and/or blog where OSC members can regularly submit news and other relevant information including rituals, creative works, and scholarly articles and research.
  6. To confer individual solitary memberships and triad / grove charters as tokens of affiliation within the Order of the Stone Circle.
  7. To keep up to date lists of current chapters and members, and to make relevant information available to all chapters and members on a regular basis.
  8. To create and convey an official degree program within the Order for those who wish to partake in them.
  9. To fairly and judiciously resolve disputes between chapters and members that are escalated beyond the resolve of individual chapters.
  10. To plan and carry out one yearly meeting where all chapters and members are invited to attend. This could be an annual retreat or a meeting online using some kind of virtual conference service.
