Chapters and Groves can self-initiate members into the degree programs.  Solitary members must do so through OSC Chapter One.  Chapters and Groves are free to impose reasonable fees for the completion and conferring of degrees to Grove members.  OSC Chapter One may impose reasonable fees for the completion and conferring of degrees to solitary members.

Degree students must state their intention to enter a degree program before beginning the program.  Each degree requires a minimum of a year and a day to pass from the date of this statement of intent before conferring the degree.  Students may take longer, but not less time, to complete the degree depending on their enthusiasm and life circumstances.

All degrees are essentially self-study. Chapters and Groves are welcome to form study groups to help members along at each level, if they so choose.

Chapters and Groves should include lists of names and degrees conferred within the past year with their annual report to OSC Chapter One.

Solitary members seeking degrees should keep an ongoing journal that includes completion dates for each degree task; brief “book reports” on books read and movies watched (approximately 1 page each); a summary of rituals you performed or participated in as part of your ritual year; a summary of your studies on one of the Nine Paths of Knowledge (approximately 3 pages); and other notes on your experiences.  You are welcome to write in a standard journal or to type into a text document.  However, we request that the final document you submit to us be in a digital text format for easier reading.  This will be submitted sometime after the minimum year and a day period.  OSC Chapter One has also created a Self-Study Checklist to help you track your progress toward each degree. This should also be submitted with your final documentation submitted upon completion of each degree.
